Health and Revenue Minister Kaul Singh Thakur inaugurated the dialysis facility and ophthalmic surgical machine at the Regional Hospital in Kullu today.

He dedicated the Primary Health Centre building at Bran village of the district. He laid the foundation of ANM Training Institute to be built at an outlay of Rs 58.37 lakh in Gandhi Nagar region of Kullu town.

Addressing the public gathering at the Regional Hospital, he said the dialysis machine costing Rs 75 lakh and ophthalmic surgical machine costing Rs 48 lakh would benefit the people of Kullu, Lahaul and Spiti, Pangi and Mandi regions.

He said kidney patients could able to avail the dialysis facility for Rs 1,067 only, he said. He said the dialysis of cancer patients, differently-abled persons and those belonging to BPL category would be conducted free of cost and that the dialysis of five patients could be carried out simultaneously.

Kaul Singh said the government was making efforts to provide MRI machines in all 10 regional hospitals of the state.

He said during four years of the Congress regime in the state, 90 new PHCs were opened and over 1,000 nurses were recruited.

He said the construction work of hospital building costing Rs 4.61 crore was underway in Tegubehar region of Kullu district.

He said 35 new sub-divisions and 15 new SDM offices were opened in the past four years. He said 2,500 patwaris were recruited and 1,120 were undergoing training.

Ayurveda and Cooperative minister Karan Singh said traditional Ayurvedic medical facilities were being expanded along with fortifying health facilities.

He said formalities were being completed to setup Ayurveda College, hospital and herbal garden at Bajaura region of Kullu district.

Kullu CMO YD Sharma welcomed the Health Minister, Ayurveda Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. Kullu District Health Officer Sushil Chander also spoke on the occasion and thanked all dignitaries.
