The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) has joined the “digital India programme” of the Government of India, making available OPD appointments, laboratory reports and blood bank stock position on the online registration system (ORS; http://ors.gov.in) web portal, a national platform framework to link hospitals across the country.

The procedure for online appointments through ORS is simple. A person has to enter her Aadhaar or mobile phone number. In the first case, the person’s details are automatically picked up from the Aadhaar database.

In the second case, patient is prompted to enter the required details. After this, the person chooses the hospital, the department in which appointment is required, and the date of the proposed visit. Confirmation will be made through SMS.

For accessing laboratory reports, the patient needs to select the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) and enter the CR number on the ORS website.

An OTP will be sent on the registered mobile, which can be used to view the laboratory reports. Similar procedure is to be followed for viewing on the lab reports on PGI’s website http://pgimer.edu.in.

OPD registration and laboratory reports continue to be available to the patients through the PGIMER’s own website also.
