FATEHABAD: The Health Department has finally confirmed that Ratia woman Manohar Devi (51) had died of swine flu in a private hospital in Hisar on January 28.

The Health Department has finally confirmed that Ratia woman Manohar Devi (51) had died of swine flu in a private hospital in Hisar on January 28.

Dr VK Jain, SMO, General Hospital, Ratia, said that her sample received from the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) had confirmed she was suffering from swine flu.

He, however, said the samples of four other members of her family had tested negative for swine flu. “We have surveyed the area where the victim lived. The woman’s other family memers have tested negative for swine flu and they have already been administered Tamiflu tablets as a prophylactic measure,” Jain said. —TNS
