Independent legislator Engineer Rashid on Tuesday said security forces had been deliberately hampering his movement in the state to benefit the ruling PDP-BJP coalition.

Rashid alleged that a joint team of the police and Army officers stopped him from visiting the Pir Panjal region and hurled abuses at him after he refused to return back to Kashmir.

“I was on a four-day tour to the Pir Panjal region and on Monday, a joint team of the Army and the police, headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police and a Major, detained me near Bafliyan,” Rashid said during a press conference here.
