Speaker blamed as National Anthem not played in House

State BJP spokesperson Munna Singh Chauhan yesterday charged Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal for failing to play the National Anthem after the House was adjourned.

Chauhan said the Speaker broke all norms during the just concluded session of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. “Smug in his own righteousness, the Speaker failed to adjourn the House with the National Anthem, a tradition honoured by all Speakers. He should immediately tender his resignation for this blunder,” Chauhan said.

Chauhan while addressing a press conference lashed out at the Speaker for bringing a no-confidence motion when the issue was pending in the Supreme Court. “All the norms were thrown out of the window by the Speaker when he administered the no-confidence motion against him,” he said.
