Shimla, April 29

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today credited the people of making Himachal the least corrupt state in the country.

A survey conducted by the Centre for Media Studies recently revealed that the people of the state were least corrupt in dealing with public servants to get their work done. The survey was conducted in 20 states.

The Chief Minister said the survey revealed the honesty, hard work and character of the people of the state

Quipping, the Chief Minister said those people were more corrupt who pointed fingers at others and blamed others of corruption. “The survey randomly covered 3,000 persons in both urban and rural areas of the state. Every Himachali should be proud that our state was at the bottom of the corrupt states’ list,” he added.

State doesn’t need polluted UP, Delhi: CM’s son

“People of Himachal do not want polluted air from Delhi and UP. Himachal Pradesh is the land of Gods and Goddesses and it is Himachal which generates fresh air for entire nation”, said state Youth Congress president Vikramaditya Singh.

Addressing mediapersons here today, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed two public rallies in Himachal so far and on both occasions, the people were a disappointed lot as neither there was any package for the state, nor special announcements were made for the development.

He said Prime Minister launched “Udan” airline services from Shimla after the directions from the Supreme Court. The Prime Minister claimed that the hawai chappal persons can also afford to fly through this scheme at Rs 1,950, whereas the actually price of the air ticket ranges between Rs 5,000 to Rs 19,000.

Taking a dig at the state BJP leaders, he said BJP leaders made false claim that 63 National Highways had been sanctioned to Himachal, whereas the Centre gave approval for preparing the detailed project report of only 10 highways and the amount for preparing the DPR have not been released.

Moreover, the Prime Minister informed the gathering that multinational beverage companies had been mandated to mix fresh juice concentrate, which was a false claim. Coca-Cola and Pepsi had fixed formula of ingredients which could not be changed, he added.
