Ludhiana, October 12

Taking their agitation against the Ludhiana police and the state government for the delay in arresting main culprit in the case, supporters of Joga Singh Khalistani today announced that they would sit on hunger strike from tomorrow onwards.

Sukhjit Singh Khosa, chief of the Satikar Committee, said “Five supporters on rotation basis will sit on hunger strike for four days till October 16. On October 17, we will divulge our further course of action.”

He also said from today onwards, all supporters would perform kirtan during the night with the motive to awake the lethargic police from deep slumber. Yesterday, supporters of Joga Singh Khalistani had burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal at Bharat Nagar Chowk.

Notably, the supporters in large numbers have been sitting on a dharna since October 6 outside the DMCH, the day when Joga succumbed. They were also joined by members of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) (belonging to Simranjit Singh Mann).
