Shimla, May 27

Led by its state president Vikramaditya Singh, Youth Congress activists today undertook a padyatra from Ghanatti near here.

The padyatra is undertaken as a mark of protest against the proposed Land Acquisition Bill. “The Youth Congress will undertake padyatras and register its protest against the injustice being meted out by Modi regime to the farmers of the country,” he said.

The Youth Congress activists undertook the 15-km padyatra, raising slogans against the Modi regime. They also submitted a memorandum, demanding withdrawal of the Land Acquisition Bill, terming it as anti-farmer.

Vikramaditya said the Congress would not allow the Modi regime to compromise with the interest of the farming community. He also accused the four Lok Sabha MPs from Himachal for failing to protect the interest of the farming community by not raising their voice against the anti-farmer Bill.

He added that the Youth Congress will continue its protest against the Bill till the Centre does not withdraw it.
