Youth, man commit suicide

CHANDIGARH: Two persons, including a 20-year-old youth, reportedly committed suicide in different parts of the city.

Two persons, including a 20-year-old youth, reportedly committed suicide in different parts of the city.

Sources said Sunny (20), a resident of Mauli Jagran, committed suicide by hanging himself at his house.

The victim’s mother, Brijeshwari, saw him hanging on Sunday night after which the police were informed. The victim was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

The sources said the victim was working as a safai karamchari. No suicide note was recovered by the police from the spot. A police official said the victim was depressed.

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter at the Mauli Jagran police station.

In another incident, Samay Parshad (35) committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Kishangarh.

The victim was seen hanging by his wife Geeta, who informed the police.

The police rushed the victim to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The victim is survived by his wife and four children. The police did not recover any suicide note from the spot.

Inquest proceedings have been initiated at the IT Park police station.

The autopsy of both victims was conducted today and the bodies handed over to their family members.
