Man held for abducting grandson

KURUKSHETRA: Panchkula resident Gurdev Singh has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping his four-year-old grandson.

Panchkula resident Gurdev Singh has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping his four-year-old grandson.

The child was rescued by the police near Ambala.

Sources in the police department said that Gurdev’s son had died sometime back and his daughter-in-law was residing at her parental house in Pratapgarh village, near here.

It was alleged that Gurdev, a resident of Ramgarh in Panchkula district, along with two of his relatives reached Pratapgarh and forcibly took away his grandson.

On being alerted, local police teams chased Gurdev and arrested him on the National Highway 1 near Ambala.
