Murder in school: Teen can move HC for bail

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday allowed the teenager accused of killing a seven-year-old boy inside a private school to move the Punjab and Haryana High Court for bail as an adult.

New Delhi, February 22

The Supreme Court on Friday allowed the teenager accused of killing a seven-year-old boy inside a private school to move the Punjab and Haryana High Court for bail as an adult.

A Bench of Justice RF Nariman and Justice Vineet Saran said the High Court verdict would not come in the way of the court deciding the bail application of the accused.

Advocate Sushil Tekriwal, appearing for father of the victim, said as per the High Court order, the Gurugram Juvenile Justice Board was to consider afresh whether the teenager should be tried as an adult.

Advocate Siddharth Luthra, appearing for the teenager, said the bail application has already been filed in the High Court and was pending. — PTI
