22 honoured on Human Rights Day

Panipat: Members of the Indian Institute of Human Rights in New Delhi, Lok Marg Foundation and Breakthrough on Monday organised a programme on World Human Rights Day at Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Biholi village of the district.



Panipat: Members of the Indian Institute of Human Rights in New Delhi, Lok Marg Foundation and Breakthrough on Monday organised a programme on World Human Rights Day at Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Biholi village of the district. PP Kapoor, an RTI activist, was the chief guest while Bollywood actor Geeta Saroha was present as a special guest in the programme. Kapoor said RTI Act should be used for awareness and to check corruption.The members of Breakthrough, a social organisation, presented a skit on the condition of women in society. The organisers also felicitated 22 persons, including 10 sarpanches of surrounding villages for their work in the field of human rights. Rajesh Vashishth, programme coordinator, and Mousmi Kundu, director of the organsiation, also addressed the gathering. TNS
