Two youths commit suicide in Panipat

Manu (21), a resident of Balmiki Basti on the Jatal road in the city, allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison under suspicious circumstances on Saturday while 27-year-old Ajay Singh committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in Ward-5 here.

According to the police, Manu came home around 11.30 pm on Friday and told his parents that he has consumed poison. They immediately admitted him to the General Hospital where he died.

Ajay Singh committed suicide by hanging himself in his room at his home late Friday night but his family members noticed the body on Saturday morning. The police have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC in both cases. They have handed over the bodies to the bereaved families after a post-mortem examination.
