CM seeks Rs 300 cr for tourism

SHIMLA: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Sunday requested Union Minister of State for Tourism KJ Alphons to approve three schemes worth Rs 300 crore for promoting religious and eco-adventure tourism.



Shimla, April 22

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Sunday requested Union Minister of State for Tourism KJ Alphons to approve three schemes worth Rs 300 crore for promoting religious and eco-adventure tourism.

He said a grant of Rs 300 crore would give a major fillip to tourism and bring the unexplored areas on the world map. He added that the tourism promotion would help create the much-needed employment avenues, especially in the remote and rural areas.

The minister assured him that the government would extend all possible support to the hill state.— TNS
