HPSEB officer caught taking Rs 25,000 bribe

MANDI: Kullu district Vigilance team today nabbed one officer of the HP State Electricity Board (HPSEB), when he was taking bribe of Rs 25,000 from a person at Banjar in Kullu district.



Mandi, January 7

Kullu district Vigilance team today nabbed one officer of the HP State Electricity Board (HPSEB), when he was taking bribe of Rs 25,000 from a person at Banjar in Kullu district. The accused Ankush Awasthi was posted as SDO, at Banjar.

SP, Vigilance, DK Chaudhari said the accused was demanding the bribe from a person to favour him in load penalty. The victim approached the vigilance against the officer.

The accused would be produced before the court to seek a police remand. — TNS
