Two children, who had gone missing from Fatehpur on Saturday, were traced from Bharmar Chowk in Jawali sub-division today.

As per information, Sahil (16) and Abhishek (8) had left their houses at 11 am yesterday to watch Janmashtami procession. When they didn’t return home, their parents approached the police, suspecting kidnapping.

The police, after registering a case, sounded their counterparts in Kangra and also shared information with the Pathankot SP.

On Sunday morning, a truck driver informed a member of the police search party, Harbans Lal, that the boys were spotted at Bharmar Chowk.

Following this, the team rushed to the spot and found the boys. The two were handed over to their family after medical examination.

SP Vimukat Ranjan said the police had also recorded the statements of the children.

The boys said they had Rs 700, which their parents were unaware of. They first arrived at the Bharmar railway station and reached Pathankot by train. Thereafter, the two reached Jammu at 8 pm last evening. Then they came back to Pathankot and arrived at Bharmar at 6 am this morning. The duo was planning to go to Nurpur, but before that the police reached them.
