Sirmaur soldier cremated with honours

SOLAN: Sepoy Vinod Kumar of the Dogra Regiment, who laid down his life in Leh, was cremated with full state honours at his native Shirumaila village in Dadahu of Sirmaur district last evening.

Sepoy Vinod Kumar of the Dogra Regiment, who laid down his life in Leh, was cremated with full state honours at his native Shirumaila village in Dadahu of Sirmaur district last evening.

As a tribute, traders shut their shops when his body was being taken through Dadahu to the banks of the Giri. A large congregation of locals paid tributes to the soldier.

His younger brother, two sisters, parents as well as the grandparents were inconsolable.

His younger brother Nitesh lit the pyre. The guard of honour was presented by the Dogra Regiment of the Indian Army as well as the local police officials.
