Two arrested in multi-crore fraud case

SOLAN: The state CID on Saturday arrested two locals in the multi-crore Indian Technomac Company Limited case involving financial embezzlement of more than Rs 5,000 crore at Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district.

The state CID on Saturday arrested two locals in the multi-crore Indian Technomac Company Limited case involving financial embezzlement of more than Rs 5,000 crore at Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district.

The accused have been identified as Amit Singh, who was found involved in purchasing aluminum scrap and aluminum cutting machines, and Suleman, who had purchased iron and copper scrap from Indian Technomac Company Limited while it was sealed in 2014.

They were produced in a local court this evening and were sent to police remand till November 19. The state CID had earlier arrested a retired excise and taxation officer, Tek Chand, who was posted in the Paonta circle when machines and material were moved out of the said unit during its attachment. He was also responsible for deputing excise peons at the unit and their checking. — TNS
