Accountants General meet Guv

JAMMU: Sushil Kumar Thakur, Accountant General (Audit), and Shourjo Chatterjee, Accountant General (Accounts and Entitlements), met Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhawan here on Friday.

Sushil Kumar Thakur, Accountant General (Audit), and Shourjo Chatterjee, Accountant General (Accounts and Entitlements), met Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhawan here on Friday.

They briefed the Governor on the areas of the state administration’s functioning that had been audited in the recent past for promoting a transparent framework of policy, rules and regulations, and encouraging efficiency and accountability in the working of the entire administrative apparatus.

The Governor stressed the importance of the required steps being taken for the maintenance of transparency, financial probity and fiscal discipline in the governmental apparatus of the state.

Meanwhile, former MLA Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai also met the Governor at Raj Bhawan.

Karbalai expressed gratitude to the Governor for sanctioning the cluster university for the Ladakh region and apprised him of the various issues of public importance and development scenario in Kargil.

Meanwhile, Justice MK Hanjura (retd), who has been appointed as the chairperson of the J&K State Law Commission, also met the Governor.

Justice Hanjura and Malik discussed various issues relating to the effective functioning of the judicial system and how the mandate of the Law Commission could be used for securing quick and fair justice to the aggrieved. —TNS
