Governor, CM extend Ramazan greetings

SRINAGAR: Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti have extended Ramazan greetings to the people.

Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti have extended Ramazan greetings to the people. The holy month will begin tomorrow.

The Governor hoped that the auspicious period would be a harbinger of peace, amity, communal harmony, brotherhood, progress and prosperity in the state.

In a message, the Governor said Ramazan was a period dedicated to fasting, service and prayers and highlighted the values of patience, self-restraint, tolerance and austerity, which promoted the feelings of compassion and respect for others. He prayed for the well-being of the people of the state.

In her message, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti hoped that the holy month marks the beginning of an era free from difficulties, uncertainty, bloodshed and acrimony. “I pray that this holy month brings along all divine blessings for our state and its people,” the CM prayed in her message.

Mehbooba appealed to the people to pray wholeheartedly during the month and seek his blessings and forgiveness.

“This is a month of limitless mercies from the creator and let us bow before him in prayers, remember the helpless during fasting and seek his mercy during the night-long prayers,” she said in her message. — TNS
