JU holds 15th National Youth Parliament

JAMMU:The 15th National Youth Parliament Competition was held at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu (JU), here today.

The 15th National Youth Parliament Competition was held at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu (JU), here today.

The event was organised by the Department of Students Welfare, JU, under the aegis of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to familiarise youths with practices and procedures of the parliamentary institution of the country and to develop leadership qualities, spirit of self-discipline, tolerance and healthy competition in them.

The topics taken up for discussion at the Youth Parliament included oath taking, obituary reference, introduction of new ministers, question hour, breach of privilege, papers laid, message from upper chamber, welcoming foreign delegates, calling attention motion and legislative business. These were presented by students of different departments of the varsity.

The students who participated in the competition were Oshin Bakshi, Sidharth Jamwal, Nitika Singh, Megha Rani, Shikha Jamwal, Romika Thakur ,Parul Sharma, Arti Devi, Madima, Niti Salgotra, Akshay Kumar, Sunny Singh, Nikher Jandyal, Shyam Kumar, Rameshwar Singh Thakur, Vishal Sardhalia, Sophia Habib, Taniya Razak, Ridha Zainab, Tavleen kaur, Shazia Bano, Kajal Pathania, Kamalpreet Singh, Rohit Charbathia, Nitan, Abhaydeep Singh Bali, Manik Bansotra, Anmol Gupta, Vikas Budhoria, and others. — TNS
