Jammu, November 8

Adviser to Governor Khurshid Ahmed Ganai has issued directions to the Directors of School Education, Kashmir and Jammu, to immediately examine the complaints about the sale of textbooks at exorbitant prices by private schools in the state and recommend measures to regulate the rates.

Taking cognisance of reports published by a section of media, Ganai, who also holds the charge of the education department, said the state would issue guidelines to regulate the prices of textbooks and uniforms of private schools on the analogy of regulation of fee structure in schools. The Adviser promised strict action against those who resorted to extortion and illegal profiteering. — TNS
