Jalandhar, September 13
A 40-year-old police constable was killed after he was run over by a train while crossing the rail track at Rama Mandi here on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Paramjit Singh, a resident of Amritsar district. Posted here in the 27th Battalion of the Punjab Armed Police (PAP), he is survived by his wife and a 14-year-old daughter. Investigating officer, ASI Ashok Singh said the incident occurred at 6.30 am.
