Couple booked for fraud

PHAGWARA: On a complaint lodged by Shashipal Singh, a resident of Pandhwa village, the Satnampura police have registered a case under Sections 420 and 406 of the IPC against Jaswinder Singh and his wife Surinder Kaur, both residents of Mohali, on the charge of duping the victims of Rs 1,11,90,000 on the pretext of selling a plot in Mohali. Wine shop looted 

Phagwara: Two unidentified motorcyclists struck at a wine shop at Dallewal village and took away cash worth Rs 2,500 and few bottles of whisky at a pistol point on Monday. They also beat Sanjay Kumar, an employee of the shop. The police are investigating the matter. OC

Theft occurs at Sewa Kendra

Phagwara: One LED, one battery of generator and four batteries of UPS installed at Sewa Kendra of Mehtan village were reportedly stolen from the Sewa Kendra on Monday. The police have registered a case under Sections 454 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).—OC
