Dairy farming a profitable venture for rural youth, says state NABARD chief

JALANDHAR: Dairy farming can be adopted by rural youth as a profitable venture as it has a good scope for growth in Punjab.

Dairy farming can be adopted by rural youth as a profitable venture as it has a good scope for growth in Punjab. This was stated by Chief General Manager of NABARD (Punjab) PM Ghole during a one-day workshop organised by NABARD at Agriculture Cooperative Staff Training Institute in Jalandhar today.

Ghole said the state government has been taking steps to enhance production and marketing of clean milk in an organised manner. He said bankers can play important role in developing in dairy sector in Punjab by providing dairy loans to the aspirant youth.

“Rural youth or small or marginal farmers can create an alternative source of income by adopting dairy farming in a professional way. There optimum scope for dairy farming in Punjab as the state a strategically located in north Indian region, where the demand for milk products and protein rich products is very high,” said Ghole.
