Farmers can avail of equipment subsidy by Feb 20

JALANDHAR: Balwinder Singh Cheena, Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO), Jalandhar, in a statement issued here today, said the farmers desirous of getting ultra-modern farming implements on subsidy could apply for it by February 20.

Balwinder Singh Cheena, Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO), Jalandhar, in a statement issued here today, said the farmers desirous of getting ultra-modern farming implements on subsidy could apply for it by February 20.

He said in order to make the farmers aware about the new technology and ultra-modern techniques agriculture machines would provided to them on subsidised rates under the National Krishi Vikas Yojna.

These machines include, five paddy trans planters, 30 potato planter, 30 potato diggers, 10 multi-crop planters, four sugarcane trenchers, nine rizzers,10 sugarcane trifallis, three Self-Propelled Reaper Binders, three fodder harvesters, one single row fodder harvester, four fodder chopper-cum-loaders, 10 fodder reapers, three power weeders, seven mulcher/ choppers and three sugarcane cutters, he added.

The CAO said these ultra-modern machines were aimed at revolutionising the agriculture sector to maximise the profit of the farmers, adding that for getting these ultra-modern machines, the farmers could submit their application in the office of Block Agriculture Officer till February 20.

If the number of applicants, desirous of getting these subsidised implements increase than the available machines, then the draw would be held at 11 am in the office of Chief Agriculture Officer on February 26, he added. TNS
