Impart skill training to youth, says ADC

JALANDHAR: Dr Bhupinder Pal Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Jalandhar, today said imparting skill training to the youth was the need of the hour to accomplish the “Ghar Ghar Naukri” mission of the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

Dr Bhupinder Pal Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Jalandhar, today said imparting skill training to the youth was the need of the hour to accomplish the “Ghar Ghar Naukri” mission of the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

Presiding over a meeting to review the skill development and training programme here, the ADC said imparting skill training to the youth would open new vistas of employment.

He said it would serve the twin objectives of providing employment opportunities to the youth on the one hand, and coping up with the need of skilled labour for industry on the other.

Special thrust should be laid on empowering the youth, especially from the needy and underprivileged strata of the society, by imparting quality training, he added.

He said all-out efforts need to be made for channelising the energy of the youth by introducing new courses in the institutes adding that it will ensure that the youth play an active role in the socio-economic development of the state in general, and the district in particular.

The ADC asked the bankers to play a proactive role for opening new vistas of self-employment by extending loans. The banks must adopt liberal approach in extending easy loans to the skilled persons so that they can live life with dignity and pride, he added.

The ADC said such efforts would help in opening new avenues for self-employment for the skilled youth besides boosting the economic growth of the country.
