Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, won various prizes at the 32nd National Youth Festival held at Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Representing Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, students participated in eight competitions and established their fame by grabbing all positions. They won the overall trophy in music and won the second runners up trophy. The students pocketed the first position in folk orchestra, group song Indian, percussion and non-percussion, second position in ‘Ghazal’ and poster-making and the third position in classical vocal, western vocal and western solo. Principal Dr Sucharita congratulated the winners.

Students excel in exams

Rajdeep Kaur and Kumari Renuka of MSc FD of the PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar, achieved the first and second positions in the university respectively. Rajdeep Kaur secured 538 marks out of 550 (97.81 per cent) and Renuka got 528 marks out of 550 (96 per cent). Dr Kiran Arora congratulated the students.

Science olympiad

Students of HMV Collegiate Senior School won several medals in the 19th SOF National Science Olympiad. Principal Prof Ajay Sareen congratulated the students. She said Pritiksha of SSC II, medical, won medal and certificate of excellence. She is amongst the top five per cent students of SSC II who appeared for the test and got 23rd rank at the zonal level. In addition, students of SSC II, medical, won various prizes. Amanpreet Kaur won the gold medal, Simran Mattu won the silver medal, Jyotsna Dutta won the bronze medal. In SSC II, non-medical, Abiroop Kaur won the gold medal, Manpriya Dhanju bagged the silver medal, Rushal Verma clinched the bronze medal. In SSC I, Aaira bagged the gold medal, Parneet Kaur won the silver medal and Tanmeet Kaur won the bronze medal.

Farewell party

CT Public School bid a warm adieu to the outgoing students of Class XII. The chief guest was Parminder Kaur Channi, co -chairperson, CT Group of Institutions. The programme commenced with a welcome of Class XII students. Students of Class XI regaled their seniors with a spate of tapping numbers, games and laughter. The pick of the day was a beauty pageant whereby the outgoing class set the stage ablaze with a ramp walk and self introduction round. Kanishk Bhatia walked away with Mr CTPS title. Srishti was crowned the Miss CTPS. Karanvir Singh was chosen as the Mr Handsome while Manmeet Singh and Abhinav Madaan got the Mr Majestic and, Mr Charismatic titles, respectively. Among girls, Maneka Bawa was adorned with the Ms Beautiful title while the Ms Charming and Ms Elegant were Swati and Rashi Singh, respectively. The Best Dressed among the girls was Sukhmani and among the boys, Mohit Behl was awarded the title of Mr Well Dressed. In the boys category, the Mr First Comer was shared by Paramveer Singh and Mahabal Singh and among the girls, Diksha and Harkamal Kaur bagged the First Comer, titles.
