Students apprised of firefighting methods

The Fire Brigade Depatment, Phagwara, carried out a drill at MLU DAV College, Phagwara, to apprise students of how to save and secure one’s life and property in case of fire.

An official of the department dwelt on the reasons and types of fires. He said, “Fire breaks out due to oxygen material and heat’. It can be put out through various methods like DC gas, carbon dioxide and water.”

“To extinguish the fire of kitchen gas cylinder, he demonstrated how to soak a sack into water and press it on the fire and instantly switch off the button,” he added.
