The Zoya Factor

Avika Gor

Producer: Fox Star Studios, Pooja Shetty, Aarti Shetty

Director: Abhishek Sharma

The dynamic duo of Sonam Kapoor and Fox Star are ready to create magic together with their upcoming romantic comedy The Zoya Factor.

Reportedly, based on Anuja Chauhan’s 2008 novel of the same name, The Zoya Factor is an unusual story of Zoya Solanki, an advertising agent, becoming a lucky charm for the Indian cricket team when she chances upon a meeting with the captain of the team, Nikhil Khoda and how it starts raining luck all over ever since then!

Sonam Kapoor pairs up with Dulquer Salmaan and they are well-supported by Angad Bedi, Sanjay Kapoor, Sikander Kher and Manu Rishi. Sanjay Kapoor, who in real life is Sonam Kapoor’s uncle, will be seen playing her father. Angad Bedi’s hairstyle is inspired by cricketer Kevin Pietersen.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas

Producer: Zee Studios, Sunny Sounds Pvt. Ltd.

Director: Sunny Deol

The film’s title is from a 1973 song Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas picturised on legendary actor Dharmendra and Rakhee Gulzar. Directed by Sunny Deol, the film marks the debut of his son Karan Deol with another newcomer Sahher Bambb, the gorgeous beauty from Shimla. Her innocent persona and charming smile have got her a huge fan following even before she is seen on the silver screen.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas seems to have all the typical tropes of a love story—beautiful locations, romantic songs, goons to be bashed up. In the action sequences, viewers will get a slight glimpse of Sunny Deol in his son.

Whether this film is the typical boy-meets-girl romance, or has something more to offer, we can only find out when it hits the theatres.

Prassthanam

Producer: Maanayata Dutt

Director: Deva Katta

Sanjay Dutt and Manisha Koirala will be sharing the screen space for a political action film Prassthanam after a decade. We last saw them together in 2008 film Mehbooba. Prassthanam also stars Ali Fazal, Amyra Dastur, Satyajeet Dubey, Jackie Shroff and Chunkey Pandey.

A remake of the 2010 hit South film by the same name, writing the Hindi version of Prassthanam was a challenge for writer Farhad Samji as the story needed a fresh spin. The original is a cult film, but it released nine years ago. However, the basic premise and characters are the same. Prassthanam falls in more real space and has plenty of drama. Jackie Shroff will be seen playing a loyal guard to the family and will be seen in a different avatar for the first time.

Rambo: Last Blood

Producer: Kevin King-Templeton, Yani Lemer, les Weldon, Avi Lemer

Director: Adrian Grunberg

Sylvester Stallone is back as one of the greatest action heroes of all time, John Rambo. A deadly journey of vengeance, Rambo: Last Blood marks the last chapter of the legendary series.

Other than Stallone, it stars Adriana Barraza, Oscar Jaenada, Paz Vega, Joaquin Cosío and many others in significant characters. The film is directed by Adrian Grunberg.

The trailer of the film has already grabbed many eyeballs as the last time we saw Sylvester in Rambo’s character was back in 2008. Now, 11 years later, we see this veteran war actor reprising his gritty role as John Rambo in a power-packed action thriller. In the film, John Rambo teams up with a reporter to save a kidnapped girl from a vicious drug cartel in Mexico. The film surely promises a lot of high-scale action-packed scenes and will be surely a visual treat for all the Rambo fans.

The keenly awaited action thriller from the hit franchise Rambo is all set to hit the Indian screens in English, Hindu, Tamil and Telugu.

The Goldfinch

Producer:Brad Simpson, Nina Jacobson

Director: John Crowley

The Goldfinch is a drama film, reportedly an adaptation of Donna Tartt’s globally acclaimed bestseller of the same name, which won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for fiction and was on The New York Times Best Sellers list.

Starring Ansel Elgort, Oakes Fegly, Sarah Paulson, Luke Wilson, Jeffery Wright and Nicole Kidman, it promises a perfect drama film. Fingers crossed for this one.

Nikka Zaildar 3

Producer: Amneet Sher and GP Singh

Director: Simerjit Singh

Known for good Punjabi films, director Simerjit Singh travels the road with romantic comedy Nikka Zaildar 3. In Nikka Zaildar and Nikka Zaildar 2, Ammy Virk shared the silver screen with Sonam Bajwa but this time he pairs up with Wamiqa Gabbi. Nirmal Rishi and Nisha Bano support the lead stars. The third installment in the Nikka Zildar series promises to be a laugh riot. Fun expected. — Dharam Pal
