‘Rally for Rivers’ at LGC

Ludhiana: Ludhiana Group of Colleges (LGC) organised a one-day awareness rally in association with Isha foundation. The chief guest on this occasion was Jagraon DSP, Sarbjeet Singh. This is a national wide awareness campaign to save the rivers. Sarbjeet Singh apprised the students about the value and significance of rivers. He also took a pledge with the students, staff members and others dignitaries to support the rally for rivers. Bhairavi, a member of Isha foundation, highlighted the alarming situation of rapidly receding rivers in India. Further, she added proper policy is needed to save water and rivers. 

Cultural festival at GGNIMT

Gujranwala Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Civil Lines, organised an Inter-School Annual Fine Arts , Literary and Cultural Festival: Sardar Jit Singh Chawla Memorial Cultural Fiesta - 'Matrix 2017'- on its campus here on Friday. Over 600 students from 25 schools from across the city participated in various events, including group dance, quiz, rangoli, mehndi, essay-writing, poster-making, cartooning, face painting, solo dance, fancy dress, folk song, working model display. The overall trophy was bagged by GNIPS, Model Town, Ludhiana, while DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, secured the runners-up position. The event witnessed brilliant and enthusiastic performances by students who toiled hard to bag the accolades for their talents. The campus was jam-packed with creativity, passion and vibrancy.

KLSD College wins prize

Students of Kamla Lohtia SD College brought laurels to the college by securing II prize in a group dance competition in ‘Ehsaas -2017’ – a cultural fest— at the PCTE, Baddowal, Ludhiana held recently. A team of eight students from college performed a Haryanvi dance. Out of total 13 teams, the college team bagged II prize. A cash prize of Rs 7500 and trophies were awarded to the winning team.— TNS
