GNPS cagers record facile wins

Ludhiana, August 23

Hosts Guru Nanak Public School (GNPS) scored facile victories in boys’ section in the ongoing Inter-School Zonal (Ludhiana II) Basketball Tournament here on Thursday.

As many as 39 teams from 15 schools are vying for top honours in basketball competition.

GNPS players wrapped up both their matches. In the U-14 category, they drubbed Manav Rachna International School 14-3 and then in the U-19 group, blanked Nankana Sahib Public School 13-0.

Boys (U-14): Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar, beat Joseph High School, Dhandra Road, Dugri 20-0; Guru Nanak Public School beat Manav Rachna International School 14-3 and DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, beat Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar, 23-4.

Boys (U-17): DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, beat Guru Nanak International Public School 15-0; Bal Bharti Public School, Dugri, beat Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar, 10-4; Sat Paul Mittal School beat Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar, 28-10 and DGSG Public School, Shimla Puri, beat SRS Public School 28-4.

Boys (U-19): Guru Nanak Public School beat Nankana Sahib Public School 13-0; BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, beat Guru Gobind Singh Public School, Daad, 21-10; Mata Mohan Dai Oswal Public School beat Guru Nanak Public School 21-10 and Sat Paul Mittal School beat RS Model Senior Secondary School, Model Town, 20-10.
