Karnataka, Maharashtra girls lift throwball title

LUDHIANA: Maharashtra in the girls’ U-17 while Karnataka in the girls’ U-19 category emerged winners in the National Throwball Tournament that concluded at Sacred Heart Convent School, Sector 39, here on Saturday.

Maharashtra in the girls’ U-17 while Karnataka in the girls’ U-19 category emerged winners in the National Throwball Tournament that concluded at Sacred Heart Convent School, Sector 39, here on Saturday.

Teams from all over the country took part in this tournament conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE).

In the girls’ U-17 section, Karnataka secured second position while Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand shared the third position whereas in the girls’ U-19 group, Maharashtra finished as first runners-up and Tamil Nadu secured third place.

AK Dhir, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Ludhiana, gave away prizes to the winners. Rev Fr Davis, director of the school; and principal Sherin Thomas thanked the chief guest and congratulated the position holders. Sijoy Biswal, observer from the CISCE; and Nirmal Kaur, Regional Secretary, were among others present on this occasion.
