Ludhiana: Students of the Khalsa College for Women have achieved outstanding results in MA Semester-II result examinations, results of which were declared by Panjab University, Chandigarh. Four students of the college have placed their names among the ten university positions. Heena Jain has bagged second position in the university wiht 95.2 per cent. Harmanjot Kaur is placed third in the university with 93.5 per cent, followed by Ritika Jain, who has secured fifth position with 93 per cent and Jaspreet Kaur with 92.7 per cent. Principal Mukti Gill congratulated the position holders and the of the Fine Arts Department for their sincere efforts in generating excellent results.
Ramgarhia Girls College
Students of Ramgarhia Girls College have performed brilliantly in MA Sem-II Fine Arts exams. Harmanpreet Kaur has stood first in the college and fifth in the university with 372/400 marks. Lakhwinder Kaur bagged second position in the college and ninth in the university with 369/400 marks. Kuljit Kaur secured third position in the college and 13th in the university with 365/400 marks. Principal Inderjit Kaur congratulated Tarwinder Kaur, head of the Department of Fine Arts and position holders.
Academic session 2019-20 begins
The academic session 2019-20 commenced at Kamla Lohtia Sanatan Dharam College today. A havan was held to mark the beginning of the new session. Principal Mahajan welcomed the new students and wished them luck. She urged the new students to uphold the principles of diligence, punctuality and discipline of the college.

Principal Savita Rani Sharma welcomed the newly-admitted students to the beginning of academic session 2019-20. She addressed the students and highlighted the college’s achievements in academics, sports and cultural activities. Varinderjit Kaur, vice-principal and head of Department of Chemistry , told students about the time table of the college. Teachers from various departments acquainted students with activities offered by the institution. Seniors staged a play, Ragging is Prohibited, to aware students about the anti-ragging policy of the college.
Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College
Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College commenced the academic session 2019-20 with an award ceremony to felicitate the students who had clinched university positions in Panjab University examinations. Principal welcomed the newcomers and acknowledged the achievements of their seniors. The college managing committee felicitated the achievers. Members of managing committee gave away the cash prize worth Rs 1,1000, Rs 5,100 and Rs 3,100 to students who had stood third, fifth, and 10th in the university, respectively.

A havan was performed on the campus of Arya College for Girls to invoke the blessings of the Almighty to begin the academic session 2019-2020. The ceremony began with chanting of mantras to enrich the environment with positivity. Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women commenced the session 2019-20 with great zeal. A special morning assembly was organised to mark the dawning of the new session. Cordia College, near Mohali, held a paath to seek blessings of the Almighty to commence the academic session 2019-20. Income Tax Day celebrated
The postgraduate department of commerce and management of Ramgarhia Girls College organised a seminar on the importance of timely filing of Income Tax Return and various benefits attached to it. Apul Jayaswal, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax Range-4, Ludhiana, was the key note speaker. Students pledged to become active participants of the Clean India, Clean Money Movement.
Fashion designing Sem-VI results
Students of Bajaj College, Ferozepur Road, Chaukimann, have performed well in bachelor in fashion designing Sem-VI exams, results of which were announced Panjab University, Chandigarh. Navrinder Singh has bagged first position in the college and sixth in the university with 89.23 per cent. Atamjot Kaur stood second in the college with 87.97 per cent, followed by Monika with 84.49 per cent.
BA Semester-IV results
Students of Government College for Girls proved their mettle by scoring top positions in BA Sem-IV examinations. Lovepreet has stood fourth in the university with 90 per cent, followed by Nitika Arora with 89.7 per cent. Malika Narang has bagged seventh position in the university with 89.2 per cent.
