Despite raising the issue of self-examination centre by the Punjab School Education Board Affiliated Schools Association, the Education Department does not seem to revert its decision.

As per the date sheet announced, exams of Class-X will commence from March 12, while the exams of Class XII standard will commence from February 28.

A few days ago, the association had also held a general meeting with Surinder Dawar, MLA (Central), Ludhiana and Satinder Bitti, a Congress leader, to raise the voice against the Education Board’s decision to change self-examination centres. The MLA had assured the association that he would arrange a meeting with the Education Minister, Aruna Chaudhary.

However, so far the association is yet to get any clue about their meeting with either CM or the Education Minister.

“So far, we have not received any update from the MLA Dawar or Congress leader Bitti. They have however assured us that our meeting with either of the one will be conducted in the next week. Leaders had also assured us that their voices will be heard” Rajinder Sharma, president of the PSEB Affiliated Schools Association told Ludhiana Tribune.

Sharma said, till the time, meeting was not fixed, association would be meeting Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Agrawal and would submit memorandum to him. “We will request the DC to pay heed to our demands so that students should not suffer due to the change of examination centres” Sharma added.

The Government Schools Teachers Union had also raised its voice against the board’s decision and the union had also passed a resolution against the board’s decision to not allow self-examination centres of schools in the upcoming board exams of classes X and XII.
