The family members of BJP worker Rinkal Khera, who was allegedly killed by the son of Congress councillor Gurdeep Singh Neetu and his accomplices around five months ago met Commissioner of Police Sukhchain Singh Gill at his office on Monday.

During the meeting, the family members of the victim requested speedy and fair investigation of the case from the top cop. The family members of Rinkal Khera also demanded the arrest of Gurdeep Singh Neetu.

Mani Khera, brother of Rinkal Khera, told the Police Commissioner that Gurdeep Singh Neetu being a leader of the ruling party has been trying to weaken the case. He also alleged that the police were working under political pressure.

“Getting justice is very difficult for common people in this country. We have been making the rounds of courts for around five months to get justice for Rinkal,” said Mani Khera.

Alleging that the police have been working under pressure of leaders of the ruling Congress party, Mani said the police have been trying to shield Gurdeep Singh Neetu under the pressure of Member Parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu.

Mani warned that if the police fail to nominate and arrest Gurdeep Singh Neetu, they would have no option but to intensify their struggle for justice in future.

Rinkal Khera was murdered by Gurdeep Singh Neetu’s son Jatinderpal Singh Sunny and his accomplices on July 19. Though the police have arrested Jatinderpal Singh Sunny and some of his accomplices, Gurdeep Singh Neetu has not been arrested so far.

Mani Khera said the Police Commissioner assured that a fair and speedy investigation would be conducted in the case.
