Ludhiana, December 17

The councillors of Shiromani Akali Dal Councillors have given a week’s ultimatum to Ludhiana Municipal Corporation to either perform or face protests.

The councillors announced to start agitation against the Mayor soon.

Opposition leader in the House, Harbhajan Singh Dang along with other Akali councillors met MC Commissioner Kanwalpreet Brar on Monday. Dang alleged that the civic body has failed to pay attention towards the issues in the wards of Akali councillors.

He alleged that the issues, which they had raised in the House meetings, were still pending. He said the officials follow a pick and choose policy by ignoring development works in the wards represented by Akali councillors.

Meanwhile, district vice-president of the BJP, Parminder Mehta met the civic body commissioner. He asked him to instruct officials to go in field and take immediate measures for the redressal of problems being faced by the public.
