The delegation of United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA) today met Pawn Garg, Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner, under leadership of Inderjit Singh Navyug, president of UCPMA regarding VAT and GST refund.

The delegation said to Pawan Garg the industries were already going through recession due to demonetisation and the GST. President Navyug said in the recession period it was the duty of the government and concerned departments to support the industry so that the industries could grow as a result the revenue for the government would also increase.

Pardeep Wadhawan, a member of UCPMA, added that after demonetisation now again the industries were going on a slow pace. “VAT refund amount in large number are pending towards the government. VAT has been taken over by the GST but still the government has failed to clear the pending VAT refunds. It has become impossible for the industry to carry its work and as a result some of them are forced to take loans from the banks to carry forward their business,” said Wadhwa. He further said, “While our money was lying with the banks, we were forced to take loans from the banks which was unfortunate,” he added.
