CUTTACK:Rajat Paliwal played a marathon knock of 194 as Haryana took complete control of their Ranji Trophy Group C encounter against Jammu and Kashmir by posting a formidable first innings’ total of 502 on the second day.

Rajat Paliwal played a marathon knock of 194 as Haryana took complete control of their Ranji Trophy Group C encounter against Jammu and Kashmir by posting a formidable first innings’ total of 502 on the second day.

In reply, Jammu and Kashmir were 84/1 with opener Shubham Khajuria (48) and Pranav Gupta (25) at the crease when stumps were drawn for the day.

The day belonged to Paliwal, whose epic knock was the cornerstone of Haryana's first innings. In his 328-ball stay, Paliwal struck 23 fours. Lower down the order, Sanjay Pahal put together a 124-ball 59 laced with 10 hits to the fence.

For Jammu and Kashmir, Parvez Rasool was the top wicket-taker with a haul of 3/77 in 29 overs.

HP 210/6 in reply to Chhattisgarh’s 238

Kanpur: Himachal Pradesh were all set to take the all-important first innings’ lead after they reached 210/6 in reply to Chhattisgarh's 238 in their Group C match. Himachal Pradesh first shot out Chhattisgarh for 238 after they resumed at the overnight score of 212/7 and then finished just 28 runs behind with four wickets in hand at stumps on the second day.

Aussie umpire hospitalised due to dehydration

Mysuru: Australian umpire Sam Nogajski today discontinued officiating in a Ranji Tropy match between Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai after he was hospitalised for dehydration. The Aussie umpire complained of stomach ache and vomiting before the start of the second day's play here and was admitted to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.
