Gallantry of Indian Troops.



IT is notified in Simla that, in recognition of the gallant conduct of certain officers and men of the Indian troops engaged in several fields of operations, the Governor General in Council has been pleased to sanction their admission to the military division of the Indian Order of Merit of the 2nd class, and several others have been rewarded with the Indian distinguished service medal. Among the former are Subedar Mahesh Singh, sepoy Ramsabad Singh, sepoy Dwarka Singh, and Sepoy Gokaran Singh, of the 7th Duke of Connaught's Own Rajputs, Resaldar Santa Singh, Dafadar Bishan Singh and Sowar Buda Singh of the 33rd Queen Victoria's Own Light Cavalry and Havildar Habil Khan of the 22nd Derajat Mountain Battery (Frontier Force).
