Resolutions in the Imperial Council



Two more resolutions have been admitted for discussion during the course of the next month. The Hon'ble Sir Ibrahim Rahimteola will move:- That this council recommends the Governor General in Council to consider the desirability of the future policy in regard to State Railway being one of Management by Government instead of by the Managing Companies." The Hon'ble Rai Sita Nath, Rai Bahadur, will move:- "That this Council recommends to the Governor-General in Council that prompt and effective measures may be taken by the Government throughout British India (a) to increase the cultivation of sugar-cane and date-palm, (b) to encourage and extend the manufacture of sugar, both refined and unrefined, by existing or improved indigenous methods, (c) to promote the starting of new sugar factories on modern, scientific basis and that financial and other kinds of assistance may be rendered by the Government for the carrying out of the above objects in an effective manner.
