Sir Rabindra Nath and Canada

SIR Rabindra Nath Tagore's firm and dignified refusal to accept an invitation from Canada as a protest against the disabilities under which his countrymen labour in that country has evoked a general appreciation from his countrymen in this country. The Indian Association, Lahore, at its last meeting, passed the following resolution:-The Indian Association, Lahore, at its meeting held on Friday, records its sense of approval of the refusal by Sir Rabindra Nath Tagore to accept the invitation to visit Canada, as a protest against the treatment meted out to his countrymen in that colony, and conveys its thanks to Sir Rabindra Nath on the independent and self-respecting attitude adopted by him in the matter.
