The Punjab Girls in Intermediate Examination

THE Punjab has reason to be proud of the fact that as many as nine girls went up for the intermediate examination and all of them passed. The number is, we believe, the largest in Northern Indian at all events, and we have every reason to believe that it will continue to grow in coming years. The Kinnard College, Lahore, was the only institution that sent up girls, and it is no mean credit to its Principal and staff that all the six girls sent up from it were successful. The same was case with the three girls who went up as private candidates. But the most gratifying feature of the result is that the success is shared by all classes of the community, thus indicating more eloquently than words what a glorious future there is for female education in this in the Province. Out of the nine successful girls one is a Muhammadan, three are Hindus and Sikhs and five Indian Christians.
