Avon Cycles has opened two more showrooms in Ludhiana for Avon, Cyclux range of bicycles and e-bikes/e-rickshaws. These showrooms were inaugurated by Avon Cycles CMD Onkar Singh Pawha in the presence of Jt MD Rishi Pawha, executive director Mandeep Pawha  and president GD Kapoor.

Dr Harinder Singh Bedi joins Ivy Hospital as director

Noted cardio vascular surgeon Dr Harinder Singh Bedi has joined Ivy Hospital as director, Cardio Vascular Endovascular and Thoracic Sciences. Dr Bedi is credited with the world’s first three surgeries which are documented in the Limca Book of World Records. He was first to document the first series of 100 patients of multi-vessel beating heart surgery with angiographic follow-up.

PSPCL, French MNC in pact for resolving complaints

To provide better service to consumers of the Mohali circle, PSPCL has tied up with French MNC Teleperformance to resolve power supply related complaints. A Venu Prasad, Principal Secretary, Power, Punjab, and chairman and managing director of PSTCL, flagged off well-equipped  complaint handling bikes recently. Baldev Singh Sran, CMD, PSPCL, NK Sharma, director (Distribution), HS Boparai, chief engineer (South) and Ravinder Singh Saini, deputy chief engineer were also present on the occasion.

BHEL wins Golden Peacock Environment Mgmt Award

BHEL has won the prestigious Golden Peacock Environment Management Award 2019 in the engineering sector. The award was received by D Bandyopadhyay, director (HR) and CMD (additional charge), BHEL, from former Chief Justice of India Justice MN Venkatachaliah. The award has been conferred on BHEL by the Institute of Directors for exemplary contribution to environment management.

TCS signs agreement with Chandigarh University

Chandigarh University has signed an MoU with TCS to offer four-year undergraduate engineering course on “computer science and business systems” from the current session. The agreement was signed by Dr RS Bawa, vice- chancellor, Chandigarh University, and Ranjan Bandyopadhyay, global vice-president – HR, TCS.  As part of the MoU, TCS will support Chandigarh University by training and developing their faculty, organising guest lectures by expert practitioners from the industry, and by engaging in continuous assessment of the students.

‘Greentech Environment Award 2019’ for NFL, Nangal unit

National Fertilizers Ltd (NFL), Nangal unit, has been awarded ‘Greentech Environment Award 2019’. Central Bank staff hold meeting with chief vigilance officer

They organised a workshop on ‘Green Affordable Housing’ and declared that Hampton Homes was the first project in this region to register themselves for IFC’s green rating. Spondon Bhagowati and Mohini Singh (delegates from IFC) said the green rating certificate will be given to projects which are effectively and efficiently using the resources considering the environmental factors.
