New Delhi: Distribution losses should be brought to below 15% to ensure that there is electricity for all by 2019, said Power and New & Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh here on Thursday. He also urged the states to roll out the Saubhagya scheme in their states to provide power connections to four crore families by December, 2018. Singh inaugurated the conference of ‘Ministers for Power and New and Renewable Energy of States and Union Territories’ here. “We have to reduce the distribution losses. It is necessary to achieve electricity for all 24X7 by 2019,” Singh said. He said 24x7 power is a fundamental right of every citizen of the country and all the states will have to ensure that by March 2019. TNS
