Realty developer HLP Group recently held a free anti-Covid vaccination camp for its employees and their immediate family members. The drive was conducted at the site office of HLP Galleria, Sector-62 (Phase 8), Mohali. As many as 235 people were vaccinated during the camp.

LIC relaxes claim settlement requirement amid pandemic

To facilitate speedy settlement of death claims in the prevailing situation, LIC has allowed alternate proofs of death such as death certificate, discharge summary/death summary containing clear date and time of death issued by Govt/ESI/armed forces/corporate hospitals in lieu of municipal death certificates and counter-signed by LIC class I officers or development officers along with cremation/burial certificate.

Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana extended till June

After the successful implementation of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) I & II during 2020, the Government of India has extended this scheme for another two months for May and June. Around 79.39 crore beneficiaries are covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). All beneficiaries are being provided 5 kg foodgrain per month free of cost over and above the NFSA allocation to combat the economic impact of Covid on the poor.

Govt eases grant of provisional, family pension amid Covid surge

In view of the Covid pandemic, instructions have been issued for grant of provisional pension in accordance with Rule 64 in all cases where there is a delay in sanction of regular pension. In case of death of a government servant during service, provisional family pension may be sanctioned immediately on receipt of claim for family pension and death certificate from the eligible family member, without waiting for forwarding of the family pension case to pay and accounts office.
