Panchkula, July 29
A “Clean air cycle rally” was launched by Siddharth Bishnoi, grandson of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, to campaign for preserving environment by using alternate means of transportation and tree plantation.
Over 200 villages in Kalka and Panchkula districts will be covered over the next month, and more than 1,500 trees will be planted during the drive.
Former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Chander Mohan, was also present at the venue. He encouraged everyone to join the campaign regardless of their political affiliations. He also paid tribute to his father Bhajan Lal and vowed to always uphold his values.
The cycle rally began from Kakrali village in Kalka on Sunday. The aim of the rally is to raise awareness of environmental issues and methods of reducing air pollution.
The foundation also launched an online plantation drive two weeks ago and encouraged people to plant a tree and upload its photo at the social media with the hashtag #plantationchallenge.
