Akshan, Nishchey shine with ball

CHANDIGARH:Akshan (4/7) and Nishchey (3/7) shared seven wickets between them as PDCA CLDAV Cricket Academy registered an eight-wicket win over Sunrise Cricket Academy, Zirakpur, in the ongoing Shaheed Major Sandeep Sagar Memorial Cricket Tournament here on Wednesday.

Akshan (4/7) and Nishchey (3/7) shared seven wickets between them as PDCA CLDAV Cricket Academy registered an eight-wicket win over Sunrise Cricket Academy, Zirakpur, in the ongoing Shaheed Major Sandeep Sagar Memorial Cricket Tournament here on Wednesday. 

Electing to bat, Sunrise Academy were all out for a below par 62 as Akshan and Nishchey ran through the side. While Akshan returned with match figures of 4/7, Nishchey picked 3/7. Tanmay (17) was the top scorer for Sunrise Academy. 

In reply, CLDAV boys romped home with eight wickets to spare. Apoorva made an unbeaten 29, while Manan Arora contributed 17 runs to the chase. 

Akshan was declared Man of the Match.

Adarsh helps Gurukul win 

In the second match, The Gurukul Cricket Academy defeated Mohit Academy by 47 runs. 

Electing to bat, Gurukul boys rode on Adarsh’s unbeaten 65-run knock to score 170/5 in 25 overs. Parv made 30, while Agrim added 24 runs to the total.

Aryan, Runvijay and Monty claimed a wicket each for Mohit Academy. 

Needing to score 6.84 runs per over for victory, Mohit Academy were bowled out for 123 runs in 24.3 overs. Agrim claimed 3/13, while Shashwat took 2/25. 

Mohak (33) did the bulk of scoring for Mohit Academy.

Adarsh was adjudged Man of the Match.
