A Gandhi museum has been set up at the Gandhi Smarak Bhawan in Sector 16, Chandigarh. VP Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and UT Administrator, will inaugurate the museum October 2, 2018.

KK Sharda, chairman of the Gandhi Smarak Bhawan, said there was no such   museum in the region which depicted the life and works of Gandhi.

“To make young generations aware about the works of Gandhi, we decided to set up the museum. After Delhi this is the only museum in the city as there is no such museum in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal,” said Sharda.

He said people could see Mahatma Gandhi’s contributions i.e. from his salt satyagrah to his jail journey and many other important events have been displayed at the museum.

Gandhi’s charkha and three monkeys have also been displayed. Gandhi’s jail yatra is the main attraction. About 200 rare photos from his childhood to death have also been displayed.
