Mohali, June 14
The police nabbed a man allegedly with 144 bottles of illicit liquor kept in milk containers on his bike. He has been identified as Mandeep Kumar (36), a resident of Khera village in Phagwara.
Shivdeep Singh Brar, Phase 1 SHO, said: “The suspect was nabbed during a nakka near the Community Centre in Phase-1. On seeing the cops, he, disguised as a milkman, tried to flee but was caught. The liquor was meant to be sold in Chandigarh, but he was probably smuggling it to Phagwara. He has been booked under the Excise Act.” — TNS
